3 Mt. Ararat looms over the Capitol of Yerevan. Armenia has a population of about 3,000,000. Armenia proclaimed itself Christian in about 300AD and is the oldest Christian country in the world. The orthodox church has great power and influence.

4 I hit the streets of Yerevan which turns out to be clean and safe. The people of Armenia seem very friendly and helpful to English speakers.

9 The Cascade, a project of steps and gardens leading to the 50th Anniversary of Soviet Armenia Monument. The last part of the gardens is still a work in process. Thanks to Wim (fellow traveler) for the information on this monument.

12 Another typical street scene. The Russian influence is always present and most Armenians speak both Russian and Armenian.
