This trip covers El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Belize - ENJOY.
Flying into San Salvador, El Salvador.
Off the plane and we stop on our way to town for a bite to eat.
In the restaurant and we are busy making pupusitas.
The pupusitas are made with rice flour and stuffed with assorted goodies before grilling.
Time to take a walk in downtown San Salvador. Very busy place.
There is lots to buy and some things are familiar.
Anyone for a wheelbarrow of pears.
Main street is crowded, hectic, noisy and a lot of fun.
Please wait, movie loading. Busy, busy, busy!
Coconuts are in abundance. I like mine with the top chopped off and a straw inserted to suck out the juice. Delicious!
We stop for lunch in a small neighborhood restaurant and take our chances.
Food turns out to be great.
The downtown Catholic church is in the center of town next to the public park.
In the park there is much to see including this barbecue in a shopping cart. Not so unusual in San Salvador.
It is a good idea for tourists to avoid eating shaved ice treats in this part of the world.
It is typical with Central and South America for the city square to have statues, churches and parks. Great meeting place.
We are on a full day journey through El Salvador into Guatemala, following the Guatemala/Honduras border and entering Honduras near the Copan ruins.
In Ceren, El Salvador, we stop and take a short ride by truck.
We visit the Joya De Ceren ruins.
