2 Flying into Beijing from LAX via Japan.
3 After 15 and a half hours of flight it is good to be in our room.
4 Next morning off to the Summer Palace of the Qing Dynasty.
5 The grounds are lovely.
6 Summer Palace also includes the Kunming Lake.

8 Thousands of tourists come to see the Palace and we are funneled through this interesting walkway.
9 Off to the side on the grounds people take photo ops in this picturesque garden.

11 A beautiful marble boat which never travels on the lake.
12 Lunch, but more than we can eat.
13 We see a short presentation of the Changing Faces dancers.
14 We cross the lake in a traditional boat and head back to Beijing.
15 Re entering Beijing on our way to the Temple of Heaven, nobody could ever miss the smog.
16 Again, many tourist groups identified by colored hats.
17 Here are some nice blue ones.
18 We had a very small group, did not need or want hats. Walking through the gardens on our way to the Temple of Heaven folks love to play games, smoke and gamble.
19 The Temple of Heaven in central Beijing where Emperors made prayers to Heaven for a good harvest.
