This Thailand trip is the second leg of a 3 country trip starting in Vietnam then Thailand and culminating in Cambodia. This 12 day trip began in Bangkok then to Kanchamabun (River Kwai), Phitsanulok, Sukholhsi, Lampang, Chiang Mai, Ayuthaya and ending in Bangkok. Enjoy.
This Thailand trip is the second leg of a 3 country trip starting in Vietnam then Thailand and culminating in Cambodia. This 12 day trip began in Bangkok then to Kanchamabun (River Kwai), Phitsanulok, Sukholhsi, Lampang, Chiang Mai, Ayuthaya and ending in Bangkok. Enjoy.
2 I join a small group preparing to leave Bangkok and head to Kanchuanabun.
3 We stop at a memorial to the soldiers who died at the River Kwai.
4 We continue to tour the memorial.
5 Cemetery grounds are well kept.
6 We catch the Thailand-Burma Death Railway to travel the route built by the British prisoners on the River Kwai.

9 More track and a beautiful view.
10 We catch a small boat for an excursion into the Sai Yoke National Park.
11 Our small boats have metal bottoms and we bounce over the rocks just below the surface. It is quite a ride.
12 Wait ... Movie loading.
13 We stop for a breather on our way through the park.
14 Water buffalo.
15 Locals fishing.
16 The park is beautiful and includes waterfalls.
17 More sights along the river.
18 After a beautiful day on the river we stop at our hotel. This is my hut in the jungle.
19 We are treated to entertainment after dinner.
20 We take a group picture in the morning before starting back out on our boats.
