This 2003 trip covers Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia in that order. The Vietnam portion of this trip starts in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), heads south through the Mekong Delta, north to Nha Trang, Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi, Mai Chau Hilltribe and Halong Bay. Enjoy!

5 Street vendors and capitalism are officially illegal in communist Vietnam but the government has turned a blind eye in the hope of boosting the economy and tourist trade.
6 People from the villages bring there vipers for sale. Drinking the snakes blood is common.

8 Enjoying lunch with my cyclo driver. Food is inexpensive in Vietnam, this meal costs about 40 cents. The cyclo driver charged 50 cents per hour.

11 In the market place live eels are sold. Eel is a delicacy in this part of the world and I enjoyed it.
12 Fruits and vegetables are plentiful and fresh.
13 Woman cuts fish in market. Most meats are as fresh as they can be.
